VENTURA, CA – 2/13/26 – Long Term Care Services of Ventura County, Inc., which operates the Ventura County Ombudsman Program, announces the appointment of Sarah Abrams as Executive Director. Abrams brings more than 20 years of experience in team leadership, program development, community engagement, and nonprofit management.

The Ventura County Ombudsman Program advocates for quality of life and care for elderly and disabled residents in long-term care facilities throughout Ventura County. Since 1981, the program has given a voice to the county’s most vulnerable residents in our community.

“Sarah’s extensive background in nonprofit leadership, coupled with her deep commitment to community service, makes her the ideal leader for this critical time in our organization’s history,” said Lisa DiMolfetto, Board Chair of Long Term Care Services of Ventura County. “Her proven ability to build strong teams, develop innovative programs, and engage the community will help us expand our reach and deepen our impact for the thousands of seniors who depend on our advocacy every day.”

Abrams returns to full-time nonprofit work after most recently serving in an administrative role with American Pacific Mortgage. Prior to that, she spent five years leading the Youth Development department at the Ventura Family YMCA, overseeing afterschool programs, camps, and leadership initiatives. Her nonprofit career began as a Middle School Youth Pastor and Chaplain, where she discovered her passion for service and advocacy.

“I am deeply honored to lead the Ventura County Ombudsman Program and its dedicated team of staff and volunteers,” said Sarah Abrams. “The work this organization does is absolutely essential. Every person in a long-term care facility deserves dignity, respect, and excellent care, regardless of their circumstances. I’m excited to continue building on the incredible foundation laid by those who came before me and to ensure that no resident ever faces challenges alone.”

A California native who was raised in Oregon, Abrams has called Ventura County home since 2010. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwest University. She is actively engaged in the community as a Board Member of the Camarillo Family YMCA, a volunteer with the Ventura Police Community Foundation, and Co-Founder of Love VC, Inc.
